Michael听Serazio听is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication whose research and teaching interests include media production, advertising, popular culture, political communication, and new media. His first book,听(NYU Press, 2013), investigates the integration of brands into entertainment content, social patterns, and digital platforms.

His scholarly work has appeared in the听, the听,听,听the听,听, and听,听among other journals.

Serazio听received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania鈥檚 Annenberg School for Communication. He also holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of San Francisco and an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University. A former staff writer for the听Houston Press, an alternative newsweekly, his reporting was recognized as a finalist for the Livingston Awards and he has continued to write essays on media and culture for听,听,听,听, and听. He also serves on the editorial board for the National Seminar of Jesuit Higher Education, which publishes听Conversations听magazine
